As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? …Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.
Psalm 42: 1-2, 5
Dear Abundant One,
When my children's souls become thirsty, I pray they will run to You. Cause them to take a long refreshing drink from Your living water, O God, so that they can withstand any doubt caused by disturbing circumstances in their personal lives. Make them realize You are their only hope. Fill them, so they can then pour out praise to Your name.
Beware lest you say in your heart, "My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth. You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth..." Deuteronomy 8:17-18
Dear Lord,
No matter how much or little we have in our possessions, help us remember, all of it comes from you. Keep us both humble and grateful. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
