Most High God,
The lure of being "the best" is so prevalent and deceiving in our culture in academics, in athletics, in appearance, in position… on and on. Please help my children not to worship any of these things as gods; instead, create in them the desire to USE THEIR GIFTS and abilities to worship You ALONE, no matter the place or position You have CHOSEN for them.
So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see (Jesus), for he was about to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today." Luke 19:4-5
Dear Lord,
First of all, we ask for the same kind of curiosity as Zacchaeus. Give us a desire to know you! Thank you for your desire to meet with us! As we sit with you, please change us from the inside-out with your intentional love. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
