Respite For the Weary
Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him."

Dear Lord and Savior,
I pray my children will understand that genuine LOVE for You requires whole-hearted obedience TO YOU. As they walk in obedience, open their eyes to YOUR LOVE FOR THEM - in Your word and in Your ways. Thank You that You desire to live in their hearts. I pray that You will actively shine through them as they die to self, and live for You.
And as (the angels) brought them out, one said, "Escape for your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley..." Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven...But Lot's wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt." Genesis 19:17, 24,26
Dear Lord,
In our own lives, please help us to run away from any kind of idol or evil and not look back in a wanting way. Make our hearts and minds determined to press forward, relying on your mercy, grace, and provision. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
