Respite For the Weary
"And I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the Lord; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart."
Jeremiah 24: 7
Dear God of Grace,
I pray that you will give my children a heart to KNOW You. May they hear and receive Your loving words of devotion: "they will be My people and I will be their God." When they wander from Your presence, please chase them down with Your love, I pray; and cause them to return to You with a whole heart.
The afflicted and needy are seeking water, but there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst; I, the Lord, will answer them Myself, as God of Israel I will not forsake them. I will open rivers in bare heights and springs in the midst of valleys.... Isaiah 41:17
Dear Lord,
We are afflicted and needy people. You designed us to be filled with you, the Answer to our parched souls. Come, water us with your word and Spirit. Bring healing and hope, rest and redemption, security and strength--rivers in bare heights and springs in the midst of valleys. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
