Respite For the Weary
O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and your foundations I will lay in sapphires. Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal, and your entire wall of precious stones. And your sons will be taught of the Lord; and the well-being of your sons will be great.
Isaiah 54: 11-13
O God of Peace,
Please come in and steady the hearts of my children when they are weary, confused, sad, or lonely. Rebuild their faith in You, I pray. Make them beautifully strong once again, causing them to shine Your radiance into this dark world. Help them to remember nothing is impossible with You, O God.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
Dear Lord,
Make it our ambition to please you. Help us to abide in your word of truth to the point that it convicts our hearts to do the right thing, even if we are standing alone. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
