A Passage and A Prayer... Isaiah 54:11-13

By Chris Baxter

O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and your foundations I will lay in sapphires. Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal, and your entire wall of precious stones. And your sons will be taught of the Lord; and the well-being of your sons will be great.

Isaiah 54: 11-13

O God of Peace,
Please come in and steady the hearts of my children when they are weary, confused, sad, or lonely. Rebuild their faith in You, I pray. Make them beautifully strong once again, causing them to shine Your radiance into this dark world. Help them to remember nothing is impossible with You, O God.

Daily Prayer

When did you "see the Light"?

(Paul defends himself to King Agrippa), "About noon, O king, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions. We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' Then I asked, 'Who are you, Lord?'  "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting."  Acts 26:13-15

Dear Lord,

We all have a story to tell. Help us to remember a time when we "saw the Light", whether it was our first encounter with you or a maturing time in our walk with you. Formulate our testimony within us, and then give us the boldness to share your saving grace with others. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
