Respite For the Weary
O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and your foundations I will lay in sapphires. Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal, and your entire wall of precious stones. And your sons will be taught of the Lord; and the well-being of your sons will be great.
Isaiah 54: 11-13
O God of Peace,
Please come in and steady the hearts of my children when they are weary, confused, sad, or lonely. Rebuild their faith in You, I pray. Make them beautifully strong once again, causing them to shine Your radiance into this dark world. Help them to remember nothing is impossible with You, O God.
I led them with cords of kindness, with the bands of love, and I became as one who eases the yoke on their jaws, and I bent down to them and fed them. Hosea 11:4
Dear Lord,
You lead us with unending love; the name of your cords are "gentle" and "kind." But there are other strongholds that bind us, and they can be so harsh and cruel. Help us to know the difference! Cause us to respond to your voice when you say, "Follow me." Then help us to turn to you and be lead by you with trusting hearts. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
