Respite For the Weary
O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and your foundations I will lay in sapphires. Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal, and your entire wall of precious stones. And your sons will be taught of the Lord; and the well-being of your sons will be great.
Isaiah 54: 11-13
O God of Peace,
Please come in and steady the hearts of my children when they are weary, confused, sad, or lonely. Rebuild their faith in You, I pray. Make them beautifully strong once again, causing them to shine Your radiance into this dark world. Help them to remember nothing is impossible with You, O God.
How then will you comfort me with empty nothings? Job 21:34
Dear Lord,
Please give us discernment when we are trying to comfort someone who is in deep grief or ongoing despair. Take judgement out of our hearts and replace it with compassion. May our words be few and our love be great. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
