Respite For the Weary
O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and your foundations I will lay in sapphires. Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal, and your entire wall of precious stones. And your sons will be taught of the Lord; and the well-being of your sons will be great.
Isaiah 54: 11-13
O God of Peace,
Please come in and steady the hearts of my children when they are weary, confused, sad, or lonely. Rebuild their faith in You, I pray. Make them beautifully strong once again, causing them to shine Your radiance into this dark world. Help them to remember nothing is impossible with You, O God.
When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom. Proverbs 11:2
Dear Lord,
Teach us to humble ourselves! Cause us to recognize when pride rises up in our hearts and then help us to confess it to you quickly. Instead of arrogance, may we have a heart that both reveres and submits to you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
