Respite For the Weary
O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and your foundations I will lay in sapphires. Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal, and your entire wall of precious stones. And your sons will be taught of the Lord; and the well-being of your sons will be great.
Isaiah 54: 11-13
O God of Peace,
Please come in and steady the hearts of my children when they are weary, confused, sad, or lonely. Rebuild their faith in You, I pray. Make them beautifully strong once again, causing them to shine Your radiance into this dark world. Help them to remember nothing is impossible with You, O God.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock Eternal. Isaiah 26:3-4
Dear Lord,
If we are steadfast in anything, may it be in our pursuit of you. May we choose to meditate on who you are; and when we think of you, may we fully believe in you. For you are Holy; you are Strong; you are Righteous; you are Truth; you are Triumphant; you are Love. And in knowing and believing these things, we will have peace. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
