A Passage and A Prayer... Isaiah 30:18-19

By Chris Baxter

Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is the God of justice; how blessed are those who long for Him… He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.

Isaiah 30: 18-19

Dear God of Justice,
Thank You for not treating us as our sins deserve; instead, You judged Your perfect Son as "guilty" on our behalf. I pray that my children would be awed by this compassion and grace. Cause their hearts to long for You the way You long for them. May they cry out to You in their time of need, having full confidence that You will hear, and that You will come.

Daily Prayer

Here, there, and everywhere

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.   Psalm 139:7-10

Dear Lord,

You are here, there, and everywhere! You transcend time and space. Your Spirit is mysterious and marvelous. Thank you for being present in my midst. Thank you for caring enough to hold my hand, to guide me along, to whisper words of love, even in the dark. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
