Respite For the Weary
And He said to me, "Prophecy over these bones, and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.'"… so I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life, and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

Dear Breath of Life,
I pray for my children when they experience feelings of hopelessness and dismay. Cause them to turn to Your word so that You can "breathe" new life and Your great power into their hearts and minds. May they hear Your word, and obey Your word with a thankful spirit.
And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper...And behold, there came a voice to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" 1 Kings 19:11b-13
Dear Lord,
Help us to turn off the frivolous and even destructive noises of this world so that we can then hear your intentional whisper--for your gentle words are full of wisdom, direction, and hope. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
