Respite For the Weary
Isaiah 9:6
For a child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:21-23
And she will bear a Son, and you will call His name Jesus... for it is He who will save His people from their sins. Now all this took place that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means “God with us”.

Accept Me.

But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Philippians 1:18
Dear Lord God,
Thank you for the truth that you can use us in spite of us! You are perfect, we are NOT. Forgive us when our motives are skewed...when we focus on the wrong target. In your lovingkindness, re-fix our gaze on you, Lord Jesus. Become our both our motivation and ambition all over again, for the glory of your Name. Amen.
