Respite For the Weary
Isaiah 9:6
For a child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:21-23
And she will bear a Son, and you will call His name Jesus... for it is He who will save His people from their sins. Now all this took place that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means “God with us”.

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. 1 John 3:1b
Dear Lord,
Like a newborn baby in her mother's arms, you love us completely, without exceptions and without expectations. Declare to our hearts, "No performance needed." For you have done the work for us already! Reassure us today that we, by faith in your Son, can rest in your arms; and then, by the grace of your Spirit, we can mature in your truths. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
