Respite For the Weary
Isaiah 9:6
For a child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:21-23
And she will bear a Son, and you will call His name Jesus... for it is He who will save His people from their sins. Now all this took place that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means “God with us”.

Dear Lord,
Give us hearts like yours. Open our eyes to the poor and help us to respond with your lovingkindness. May we not look the other way...otherwise we will miss your blessing that is only discovered when we give. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
