Respite For the Weary
Isaiah 9:6
For a child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:21-23
And she will bear a Son, and you will call His name Jesus... for it is He who will save His people from their sins. Now all this took place that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means “God with us”.

The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against evil-doers, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:15-17
Dear Lord,
You see us and you hear us! Thank you for this comforting truth. In your righteousness, please come. Deliver your people who call on your name, Lord Jesus. Amen.
