Respite For the Weary
Dear Faithful Readers and Friends of mine,

I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, "O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules." Dear Lord,
Help us not to "skim over confession." Rather, cause us to probe our hearts before you, pouring out anything that is errant in our thoughts or actions. In your steadfast love, forgive us, cleanse us, and renew us again. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
