In 2005, my husband and I celebrated our fifteenth wedding anniversary. That same year, my sweet younger cousin-in-law, Molly Rutherford, became engaged. The Lord used both of these factors to put me in a “reflective state of mind” concerning marriage.
“What have I learned during these years of my life?”
“What does God want me to keep learning and applying?”
“What words of wisdom could I give to a young married woman?”
I began to answer each of these questions in the form of letters written to Molly. The fifteen(really sixteen) letters are to her, but for all. I hope each one will bring you closer to your Savior, Jesus Christ. Always remember, He is the cornerstone of your marriage. I share these letters with you from a humbled position, knowing full well that I am still in the learning process as I walk the road of life with my husband … “But one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 2:13-14). Marriage is an upward call of God; Christ Jesus will help you fulfill it.
