A Passage and A Prayer

A Passage and A Prayer… Jeremiah 17:5-8

Thus says the Lord, “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the Lord. For he will be like a bush in the desert and will not see when prosperity comes, but will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, a land of salt without inhabitant. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is in the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its root by the stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in the year of the drought nor cease to yield fruit.

Jeremiah 17: 5-8
Dear Life-Giver,

I pray that my children would never walk into a situation or season of their lives by trusting in themselves alone. May they know beforehand that without You they can do nothing, and produce nothing. Keep their hearts turned towards You in humble dependence… May they each trust You fully. Cause them to dig deep into who You are, by reading and understanding Your word. And in this place of trust, may they become strong and vibrant and productive through You and FOR You.
